Fall 2016 Game Format Changes

There has been a lot of changes from US Soccer this past year and will be completing in Fall of 2017.

Game formats for 2016:

PreK & K(U6) – 4v4
1st Grade(U7) – 4v4
2nd Grade(U8) – 6v6
3rd & 4th Grade(U10) – 7v7
5th & 6th Grade(U12) – 9v9
7th & 8th Grade(U13+) – 11v11

Rule changes for 2nd Grade(U8) – 6v6:

Keepers cannot punt the ball.
On goal kicks, opposing team must retreat to their half of the field until the ball is played out.

Rule changes for 3rd & 4th Grade(U10) – 7v7:

Offside will be in play.
On goal kicks, opposing team must retreat to their half of the field until the ball is played out.
Keepers cannot distribute the ball over half field in the air. Must play the ball out from their end. IDF for opposing team if they do.

Rule changes for 5th & 6th Grade(U12) – 9v9:

There is no heading of the soccer ball.
