WYS Systems of Play

Waltham Youth Soccer suggests that you play these 3 systems to maintain the development of roles on the field and not just players in a position. The 4-3-3 system is what US Soccer is playing at the highest level and wants this system to trickle down to all levels in the US.

  • Developing 2 center backs(5,4)
  • Developing 2 wing backs(3,2)
  • Developing 1 central midfielder(6)
  • Developing 2 attacking midfielders(8,10)
  • Developing 3 forwards(11,9,7)
