TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT CENTERS RETURN TO WALTHAM 2013

It is that time of year again! It is time to prepare for those long, cold winter months. While you may be stuck indoors for much of the winter, you don’t have to put aside your soccer fun until the spring. Massachusetts Youth Soccer is returning to Waltham with its 2013 Winter Technical Development Center.  The Technical Development Center program is a tremendous opportunity for highly motivated players to develop their technical skills and to increase the speed of their play. Under the direction of our Director of Coaching, Ian Mulliner, the sessions will continue to be dynamic, fast-paced and will focus on all areas of technical development.

6:00 – 7:00 PM is for 2001, 2002 or 2003 players
7:00 – 8:00 PM is for 1998, 1999 and 2000 players

Coaches are also encouraged to attend. They can attend, receive a copy of the weekly session, shadow the State Coach and have an opportunity to discuss the session – all free of charge!

WHEN ARE THE CENTERS RUN?     Most of the Centers will begin the week of January 6th and will TEN (10) weeks (excluding school vacation week).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?     Enrollment in a 2013 Technical Development Center will cost $140.00 per player for all TEN (10)weeks. Once the sessions begin, there will be no refunds.

                              Cancellations by November 30th, full refund
Cancellations by December 14th, 50% refund
Cancellations made on or after December 15th, all payments will be non-refundable.

WHAT WILL WE WORK ON? The Centers are designed to help players focus on and improve all of their technical skills. Players will work on individual development including ball manipulation, ball mastery and individual attacking and how and when to use them in game situations. Each session will consist of 40 minutes of skill acquisition and 20 minutes of small sided games in which to practice the “Technique of the Day”.

WHO ARE THE COACHES? Massachusetts Youth Soccer State Staff Coaches, Development Coaches, Instructional Staff Coaches and ODP Staff Coaches all under the direction of Ian Mulliner, Massachusetts Youth Soccer’s Technical Director, will be conducting the sessions.
